Find your situation
01My track is on another profile

You need the release link and your profile

02Someone else’s track is on mine

Identify the incorrectly assigned recordings

03I have two profiles

Collect both links and a list of releases

Compare profile URLs: a matching name isn’t enough
01

Check the profile link, not just the name

Two artists can share a stage name. A matching name below a track doesn’t prove it has been assigned correctly. Open the release, click the artist and compare the page URL with your existing profile. Check its catalog and photo: a similar-looking profile is no substitute for your own.

Distinguish three situations: your release is on another artist’s profile, someone else’s release is on yours, or your catalog is split across multiple profiles. Support needs different information for each. List the exact recordings that need moving and leave correctly published releases unchanged.

02

Collect the links and identifiers

What to include in your request
  • A direct link to the incorrectly assigned release
  • The profile where it currently appears
  • The correct profile link, if one already exists
  • The title, artist name and contributor role in your submission
  • The release UPC and affected recordings’ ISRCs
  • Your distributor’s submission number and a screenshot of the error

If only one album track is affected, identify it separately. If the error concerns a guest artist, state their role: a primary artist and a featured artist aren’t interchangeable. Don’t change everyone’s roles to get around the error. First compare your submission with what the platform displays.

Identifiers help distinguish recordings with the same name: ISRC identifies a recording, while UPC identifies the whole release. If you don’t have a code, provide the submission number and links. An invented identifier only makes the search harder.

03

What to do on Yandex Music

Yandex Music, a major streaming service in Russia, has an official catalog correction help section with a specific “Release on another artist’s profile” option. It asks for the release link and correct artist profile. The help center also directs artists and their representatives to artist support. Follow the current link on the official page, since the request interface may change.

Tell your distributor about the assignment as well. Provide the same links and your platform support case number, if issued. This helps avoid contradictory requests. Don’t assume the correction will happen automatically or by a particular hour: wait for a response about your recording.

04

What to do on Spotify

Spotify offers a content mismatch form in Spotify for Artists for someone else’s music on your profile, your release on another artist’s profile, or a split catalog. Its official help page also gives a contact route if the form doesn’t work. You can report an error before release if the relevant release already appears in your artist tools.

Before your next delivery, give your distributor the exact artist link or ID and ask how to include it in your submission. Spotify describes providing an artist ID as a way to reduce profile mix-ups, though the available process depends on your provider. Our Spotify for Artists access guide explains how profile management differs from music delivery.

05

Your first release, or a new profile instead of the old one

If you haven’t released music before, say so clearly: “This is my first release; I don’t have an existing artist profile.” Don’t enter another artist’s link just to fill a required field. If you have an existing catalog but a new profile was created, provide both links and list the recordings that belong to the same artist.

Check every platform separately. A Spotify correction doesn’t confirm that Yandex Music or VK Music, VK’s streaming service, has been corrected too. For VK and other services, start by giving your distributor specific links and asking about the current correction route. Don’t apply one service’s form name or timeline to all the others.

Correction request template

Support request templateFill in your details

My release [title, UPC] on [platform] has been assigned to the wrong artist.

Release link: […].

Current profile: […].

Correct profile: […] / I don’t have an existing profile.

Affected tracks and ISRCs: […].

The artist is listed in my submission as [name and role].

Please check and correct the assignment, and let me know whether you need more information or an updated delivery.

Don’t send account passwords or ask another artist to give you control of their profile. If you suspect an unauthorized release, describe that separately: a rights dispute should not be presented as a routine profile error. Keep source files and documents showing your connection to the recording for any further action.

07

Check after the correction and before your next release

Open the old release link and correct profile, check every contributor, then update announcement links if the URLs have changed. Save support’s response and final profile URLs in your catalog spreadsheet. Compare them with your next submission before sending it.

If the release is unavailable altogether, follow our delivery and release date checks. For your next release, see the guides to Yandex Music and VK Music. You’ll find creator’s terms and the route to uploading a release on our home page.
